Distance Sales Contracts for Lane11 Motors

At Lane11 Motors, we specialize in offering unique vehicles to clients both across Canada and in the United States. To accommodate our out-of-province and international customers, we provide a seamless and transparent distance sales process. Our policies align with the guidelines established by the Vehicle Sales Authority of British Columbia (VSA) to ensure compliance and customer protection.

What is a Distance Sales Contract?

A distance sales contract is an agreement between a seller and a buyer that is completed remotely, without the buyer physically inspecting the vehicle before the contract is signed. Examples include contracts executed over the internet, by phone, or through other means.

Lane11 Motors’ Process for Distance Sales

  1. Virtual Tours
Before entering into any agreement, we provide a comprehensive virtual tour of the vehicle. This allows customers to view the car's condition, features, and details from the comfort of their location.
  2. Pre-Purchase Documentation
    • Inspection Reports: We send a detailed pre-purchase inspection report to ensure transparency.
    • Service Records: If available, we provide service history to give buyers insight into the vehicle’s maintenance.
  3. Premium Auction Sourcing
For customers looking for rare or premium vehicles, we extend our expertise by sourcing cars through high-end auctions.
  4. Delivery Arrangements
Once the contract is finalized, we coordinate secure delivery of the vehicle to your location, ensuring the car arrives safely and as expected.

Your Rights as a Buyer

  • Review of the Contract:
The law, as outlined by the Vehicle Sales Authority of BC (VSA), requires that buyers have access to all relevant details, including a full description of the vehicle, pricing, delivery terms, and cancellation policies, prior to signing a distance sales contract.
  • Cancellation Policies Under BPCPA:
    • If you didn’t have access to the electronic form contract before signing, you have 7 days to cancel after receiving it.
    • If the required contract details were not disclosed, you can cancel within 7 days of receiving the document.
    • If the vehicle is not delivered within 30 days of the agreed supply date, you may cancel at any time, provided delivery hasn’t occurred.

Refunds and Related Agreements

  • Refund Timeline:
If the contract is properly canceled, refunds must be processed within 15 days without deductions.
  • Cancellation of Related Agreements:
Any related consumer transactions, deposits, security agreements, or financing arrangements are also canceled upon proper cancellation of the distance sales contract.
